Jane Kuo

Jane Kuo received her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Arizona State University in 1992.  She is the director of the Chinese language program at the University of California, San Diego and Professor Emeritus of Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Arizona. At Thunderbird, she developed a business-focused Chinese language program and was recognized as an outstanding professor in 1983, 1987, 1997 and 2006. She conducted seminars in business-specific Chinese language and cross-cultural communication skills for executives in Motorola, Intel, Delta-Faucet and other multi-national corporations. She taught in the Executive MBA program and organized the summer program for Thunderbird’s MBA students to Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong as well as winter program to Taiwan, Japan Singapore. She is a board member of Chinese Language Teachers Association and founding board member of Chinese Language Teacher Association-Southern California. In 2010 she was honored by the Chinese Language Education and Research Center as an outstanding educator. She is the author and co-author of numerous books and articles, including Startup Business Chinese, Level 1, 2 and 3 (Boston, 2007, 2010, 2013), Open for Business: Lessons in Chinese Commerce for the New Millennium Volume One and Two ((Boston, 2001, 2002), Business Negotiation: Theory and Practice (Shanghai, 1998). She taught at National Norman University and Tunghai University as a visiting professor in 1982.
