Giving to History

Gifts from alumni, parents, and friends play an important role in keeping the History Program at the forefront of academic and research excellence. Even modest contributions can achieve big results - and begin a lifetime of philanthropy with impact. Following are the simple ways to pledge your support online. If you would like to discuss the specific terms of a gift, please contact the Department Chair.

Department of History Fund

Your tax-deductible donation to the Department of History Fund will support public programming (lectures, conferences), student scholarships, study abroad, research, and other activities of the Department of History.

Dryden Hull/John Marino Best Dissertation Prize

Our former Chair and colleague John Marino chose to honor one of his graduate students, Dryden Hull, who was lost tragically and suddenly in a car accident, by establishing the Dryden Hull Best Dissertation Prize Fund to celebrate and honor graduate student research. Upon his passing, it was John’s express wish that memorial gifts made in his honor be dedicated to the Dryden Hull Best Dissertation Prize, so that his commitment to graduate education could be carried forward.
